Dr. LaToyia Jordan is a heart survivor, speaker, and faith-driven leader who uses her voice to bring awareness to women’s heart health and the power of faith in healing. After being diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2023, LaToyia turned her personal health journey into a testimony of resilience, advocacy, and hope.

Now entering her third year as a heart survivor, she is passionate about encouraging women, especially Black women, to listen to their bodies, seek care without delay, and never suffer in silence. Her story is a reminder that God is still a healer and that faith, community, and awareness save lives.

LaToyia proudly supports the American Heart Association East Texas through its Go Red for Women initiative and is honored to share her testimony during Heart Health Month.

My Heart Story

In 2023, at the height of traveling, speaking, and building my brand, I was diagnosed with chronic congestive systolic heart failure and cardiomyopathy after months of silently pushing through symptoms I didn’t fully understand. As a Black woman without health insurance at the time, I delayed care, until my daughter drove me to the ER and I was hospitalized with an ejection fraction of just 20–30%. Today, I’m a heart survivor, 40 pounds lighter, walking in faith, and living with renewed purpose after undergoing Barostim surgery to improve my quality of life. My story bridges faith, health equity, leadership, and advocacy equipping women and communities to listen to their bodies, confront disparities, and steward their health boldly. I don’t just speak about heart disease; I speak about resilience, visibility, and the power of community, and audiences leave informed, empowered, and ready to act.
